Weekly Announcements 11/8/2020

To the Parents and Students of Etowah High School.
An Important Announcement Concerning EHS!

We regret to inform you that due to COVID-related staffing issues, Etowah High School will transition to the blended learning option on Monday, November 9, 2020. Traditional students will remain at home during this time and receive daily instruction from their teachers. Students need to check their email several times daily. Our plan is for EHS students to return to campus on Monday, November 30, 2020. Teachers will be available daily from 8-3 and will stay in constant communication with students during this time frame. This will not affect students who are currently on the remote learning option. The child nutrition department will not be preparing meals while EHS students are on blended learning. Meals will resume on November 30th.

Traditional students that need a device and have home internet will check one out on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, after completing a student and guardian signed copy of the Student Chromebook Checkout and User Agreement that is available on the Attalla City Schools Web Page or you may pick up a paper copy at the time of checkout. The guardian and student need to come to check out a device.

Also on Tuesday, student work packets will be available at the EHS lunchroom for blended students who do not have home internet access.

Students will follow this schedule for device checkout and packet pick up.
On Tuesday, in the Library for device pick up and the cafeteria for packet pick up, students with the last name beginning with A through L will come in between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
Students with the last name beginning with M through Z will come in between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM.

All students, please check your email for the Pitchfork Paper, our new school newsletter for students.
All seniors please check your email for information from Herf Jones.

Congratulations to EHS Football for the exciting win over Randolph on Friday. Football plays away at Haleyville on Friday, November 13th at 7:00. A limited number of tickets are available on for this game. Please get your tickets early.

To all our Veterans, you put aside your needs for that of a grateful nation and we salute you for your sacrificial service. Etowah High School would like to say, “thank you” for Veteran’s Day and every day.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during these unprecedented times. Go Blue Devils!
