Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Amy Holladay
Welcome to my page! I am super excited to be starting my 26th year as an educator! I earned a BS and MAEd from UAB in Secondary Math Education. While in college I was a cheerleader for two years at Wallace State and on dance line at UAB. I have taught standard and advanced levels of middle and high school mathematics including Math 7, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II/Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, MA 100 and MA 112. I am eager to prepare students at EMS. Having taught all levels of math, I know the skills they have coming from 7th grde and the skills they will need for high school math. It is my goal to make math fun, challenge advanced students, help struggling students realize they can do math, and bridge the gap from middle to high school.
I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 25 years. My husband, John, coaches football at Etowah High School. John also earned a BS degree in Physical Education from UAB where he played quarterbck, and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from The University of North Alabama. We are the proud parents of Jackson, age 20, and John Wallace, age 14. Jackson is starting his junior year as a business major at The University of South Alabama. He played football at South for two years, and is currently a USA Jaguar Student Assistant Football Coach. John Wallace is a Freshman at Etowah High School, where he plays football and basketball. We spend many hours supporting each other on various fields and courts. However, when we are not at a sporting event, we always have fun making memories. We enjoy being outdoors. We love to travel and enjoy spending time together at the beach, the lake, and the mountains. Our family is rooted in our faith as our motto is God, Others, and Dare to be Great!
I am looking forward to a great year preparing Etowah Middle School's 8th graders for high school math. Each student will be taught and loved as if they are my own children. Feel free to email me at email@example.com if you have questions or concerns. Let's have a great year! Go Blue Devils!
