About Our District

  • The city of Attalla, located in Etowah County in northeast Alabama, has a population of 6,048 according to the 2010 U. S. Census Bureau estimate.  The number of households is 2,808.  The median income as of the 2010 Census Bureau estimate is $31,457.  According to the 2010 U. S. Census, 78% of the adults graduated high school, and 11% possess a Bachelor's Degree or higher.  Attalla's population is predominately Caucasian (81%), but various other races reside in Attalla including: African American (12%), Hispanic (4%), other (3%).  Our district has a current enrollment of 1620 students and is comprised of 3 schools: Attalla Elementary School that serves grades K-5 and has a current enrollment of 586, Etowah Middle School that serves grades 6-8 and has a current enrollment of 359, and Etowah High School that serves grades 9-12 and has a current enrollment of 675.
